William Lloyd Garrison was an American journalist, social reformer, founder and editor of The Liberator an abolitionist newspaper, and he was also one of the founders of the American Anti-Slavery Society. Garrison finally saw the abolition of slavery in 1865 after all his hard work and determination of striving to end slavery.

Nat Turner was a slave rebellion leader in Virginia, 1831. Turner's rebellion led to the deaths of 20 whites and 40 blacks and the creationof the"Gag-Rule". The "Gag-Rule" prohibited any discussion of slavery in the House of Representatives.
